Terms of Service
These beta terms explain the basic rules for using ChessRelay while we prepare the product for broader public release.
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Using ChessRelay
- ChessRelay helps over-the-board chess players record games, analyze moves, train board vision and openings, evaluate positions, and create stream overlays.
- You are responsible for the games, positions, opening lines, stream labels, and other content you create or upload in the app.
- You must use the service lawfully and avoid activity that disrupts, abuses, or attempts to reverse engineer production systems.
Fair play and engine assistance
- ChessRelay includes analysis and evaluation features that can be inappropriate during some rated or tournament games.
- Do not use engine assistance, live evaluations, best lines, or move suggestions in any setting where they are prohibited by tournament rules, platform rules, or fair-play expectations.
- You are responsible for understanding the rules of the event, club, platform, or broadcast where you use ChessRelay.
Beta status
- ChessRelay is currently a beta product. Camera tracking, model inference, training tools, and streaming features may change as the service improves.
- We aim to make board tracking reliable, but lighting, piece style, camera angle, internet connection, and model availability can affect results.
- The service may be updated, paused, rate-limited, or changed while we prepare for broader public use.
Accounts and security
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- If you use Google sign-in, Google and Supabase help authenticate your account. If you use email sign-in, transactional emails may be sent through our email provider.
- Tell us if you believe your account or a stream overlay token has been accessed without permission.
Availability and liability
- ChessRelay is provided as-is during beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect move detection, or error-free analysis.
- To the fullest extent allowed by law, ChessRelay is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages related to use of the service.
- These terms may be updated as the product, hosting, billing, or public launch requirements evolve.
